About me

I’m Anna Saarikivi, a visual artist from Helsinki, Finland.

Painting is my true love, and I mostly work with oil paint and watercolours, but I do enjoy drawing as well, especially with graphite. My work is strongly figurative, and even when I veer towards abstraction it is always based on a visual observation. In my artistic work I’m interested in nature, the human form, faces, memories, old and new photographs, childhood and family ties, odd details, reflections, light and shadow.

Art was always my passion, but I only started painting in 2018. I’ve studied two semesters at the Free Art School in Helsinki, and since 2019 I’ve been working at my own studio in Lauttasaari, Helsinki.
